IMPS Manual
Welcome to the IMPS Manual. This documentation provides reference information and tutorials for using the IMPS system. To get started, follow the links to a section below:
Parts & Engineering
Parts are definitions of re-usable items that are used in projects or are purchased directly. They allow tracking of changes, and where they are used. The Inventor IMPS Add-in allows you to synchronise metadata about parts that you create in Autodesk Inventor. This saves time when creating parts and ensures that part BOMs are up-to-date.
Project Management
IMPS allows the creation of build standards, which represent the items to be constructed for a project. This build standard exists under the control of the project manager, and is based on, but separate to, the engineering parts lists. IMPS also includes a number of reporting tools for tracking of project information.
A Project Report provides details about the current outstanding actions for each item in the build standard. Allows tracking of the overall state of the build.
Purchasing
Item groups represent physical objects, such as a pin, or 20 M12 nuts. Items track where they are bought and used, and also allow documentation to be attached.
Deliveries, Stores and Workshop
The workshop section of IMPS covers deliveries, stores management, booking out and assembly activities. This functionality is designed to be operated by stores and purchasing personnel.
New Delivery Receipts are created to sign off as items having been delivered and inspected. It provides functionality to search for outstanding items and deliver them into stores or book them out to projects.
The Stock Level page allows for stores management. Items in stock at any workshop can be searched for, transferred between stores or booked out to projects.
Quality
IMPS provides a Non-Conformance Report feature to manage quality issues. NCRs can be created to track incidents, or created against items or parts. The Search page allows searching through open and closed NCR reports.
Document Library
The document library maintains a database of documents and their revisions. Attachments are links between documents and other IMPS objects, such as items or parts. These allow relevant documents to be located from within the IMPS system.
Archiver Tool
Archiver is a tool to allow linking of files to documents in the IMPS document library. It also facilitates creating attachmentsto other objects in the IMPS system, e.g. Parts, Purchase Orders etc.
